about redbank

Redbank will be the key to unlocking the future growth and prosperity of the Hawkesbury region.

Who we are

Redbank North Richmond is a 180 hectare master-planned community comprising a diverse mix of housing, including traditional family lots to grand homestead plots. The masterplan is designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of community members and cater for their evolving lifestyles.

The $1.8 billion project invests over $65 million towards local community infrastructure, including a town village with a supermarket, cafes and speciality stores; a child care centre and preserving 85 acres of heritage-protected parklands and waterbodies.

Redbank North Richmond is the Hawkesbury region’s premier new address, with over 900 lots already sold. And when completed, Redbank North Richmond will be home to 3,900 proud residents in 1,400 homes.

When Redbank Communities started construction of Redbank North Richmond, we had a clear vision of the legacy we wanted to create. At the heart of the development was a commitment to meet the criteria of the Greater Sydney Commission’s plan to deliver a ‘Green Grid Network’. The network consists of interconnected open-space parks, bike trails, playgrounds and heritage area information.

Redbank North Richmond is where the next generations can live, grow and prosper.

With parks, bike paths and walking trails and just one kilometre from the stunning Hawkesbury River and at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Redbank is a vibrant community on nature’s doorstep.

Meet the Developer

Redbank North Richmond is one of Western Sydney’s most innovative residential developments, combining the project marketing, financing and development experience of its directors with the drive, expertise and local knowledge of the executive team to deliver thriving and connected communities.

The developers of this masterplanned development is “Redbank Communities”. With over 150 years of combined experience in the property industry, shareholders and directors Gordon & Archie Douglas and John Benton have been behind some of Australia’s property success stories, including PRD nationwide (sold to Colliers 2005), Halcyon Group (sold to Stocklands 2021), Quality Apartments, and Investment Management Australia (IMA).

In 2006, Gordon Douglas, Archie Douglas and John Benton formed North Richmond Joint Venture (NRJV) when the North Richmond site was acquired with funding provided by them and their joint venture delivery partner Buildev. In 2012 the trio acquired all interests of Buildev and have owned the project outright since. NRJV was later named as Redbank Communities.

The directors have been involved together in over 200 projects as marketer, financier or developer, including masterplanned communities at Settlement Shores (Port Macquarie), Casuarina Beach (Kingscliff), Bluewater Harbour (Cairns), and Halcyon seniors living communities (SEQ).

Under the leadership of Project Director Mr. Mark Regent, our esteemed development team is diligently working towards the completion of the remaining stages of our flagship project, Redbank North Richmond.

This region has a rich history shaped by the Darug peoples of the Boorooberongal clan, the first Australians in the area. From traditional trade practices to the later establishment of farming communities by rural settlers, the land has witnessed a dynamic evolution.

Throughout the project, a consistent emphasis has been placed on respecting the traditional owners and acknowledging the significant role of agricultural heritage in shaping the region’s history. This recognition reflects a commitment to understanding and preserving the cultural significance of the land, fostering a sense of community, and honouring the diverse contributions of different groups over time.
